I started Sister in the Sun at the beginning of 2006 as basically I became tired of lugging so many things for my children to change into after their various swimming activities and then carting wet clothes/towels home again. The natural solution was to make one garment that did the lot, hence the towelling dress.

The dresses and hoodies are made from a lightweight stretch towelling which is easy to go over the head but  not too hot to wear all day on the beach. They are also great protection against the sun for young skin. 

The adult dresses are made to order and come in a variety of colours and sizes so please do not hesitate to contact me if you want a variation made on the photos supplied on the product page.

These garments are handmade in Australia and wherever possible the fabric is also sourced from here.However,the stripes are imported from the U.S as there are no suppliers here hence, I can only buy in small quantities due to the horrendous postage costs,so please bear with me if you are after a certain colourway and there is a slight delay...I am a small company and I do like to offer unique fabrics but sometimes I do run out !!!
